Goals for the Future

With our fast growth and, per our comprehensive plan, another 180,000 residents moving to Frisco in the next 13 years, there are many important growth-related issues that we must address as a city. You need a Mayor who is hands-on that will work hard to protect your interest. As shown by the trust and confidence that the city council has shown in me by appointing me the Mayor Pro Tem a record five times, you can count on me to work with local, regional, state and federal officials to make Frisco the best place to raise a family.

There are a foundation of goals that I believe in that will help guide me as we balance growth and ensure a quality of life for our families:

  • Protecting Taxpayers. I am a dedicated fiscal conservative who will get the most of our tax dollars by reducing government waste and bureaucracy. With my experience and extensive knowledge of Frisco city government, I will continue to review the city budget, as I have for years as the chair of the budget and audit committee, to find ways to cut unnecessary projects. I will make sure City Hall is spending your tax dollars only for what's really important.
  • Fighting Crime. I have a zero tolerance for crime and we can always do more to stop violent offenders who target our children. I will work closely with our law enforcement to make sure they have the tools necessary to fight crime and keep big city problems out of our community.
  • Infrastructure/Traffic. With the fast growth of Frisco, I will make sure our roads and streets quickly catch up to reduce traffic congestion. This includes working closely with federal and state officials to finally improve highways across Frisco without resorting to toll roads, and speeding up construction projects.

I will continue to work with our School District, Collin College and Collin and Denton Counties to build upon the partnerships we have created. We pay taxes to all these entities and we owe it to our citizens to partner with them to maintain and lower the tax impact on our citizens. I will continue to negotiate and work with corporate partners, as I have done with T-Mobile and our mall developers, to bring jobs to Frisco and lower taxes.

Please call or email me – I would like to discuss the future of Frisco with you!

Sincerely,
Maher Maso
